i want to live
and work
like a poet
i don’t want to
crank it out
or crush it
i want to see
and breathe
and feel
i want my attention to be my own
and to know that there is space all around me
but more than this
i want to save my adrenaline
for real lions

Yes…powerful. Live it your way…save your energy for the “real lions”
Thanks for the reminder…

Lisa,
You are wonderful.
Well, we knew that anyway, but I wanted to say: I love this poem.
Absolutely gorgeous.
Love!

Do poets like positive feedback? Because it’s very hard for me to restrain myself from gushing about how much I LOVE THIS POEM!!!! Encore, encore!!!!

My new Favorite Poem. I want to get this tattooed on me. For now I will just post it on the wall.

Echoing the “love this poem” that have been expressed already.
Most (if not all) of what I fear has very little to do with real lions, and I have a feeling that your poem may be the thing that will get me to remember it for real. Thank you, Lisa.

Yes!
Just say ‘NO’ to crush it.
A group of young, male, entrepreneurial types I know were using #crushit on twitter to talk about their progress and to encourage each other etc.
I proposed #sprinkleit as my preferred alternative

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh HOW much do I love this!
Let me call on a poet to count the ways.
Beautiful.
Invisible marker pen to erase all crush it references from my world.
